Sonja spent over 20 years working in the entertainment industry as a film and television executive and producer at Walt Disney’s Hollywood Pictures, Universal Television, and Ron Howard’s Imagine Television, among others.  She has worked with and developed projects with many writers, directors, and production companies, including Academy Award nominees and winners such as JJ Abrams, Aaron Sorkin, Francis Coppola, Sofia Coppola, and Kathryn Bigelow, to name a few.

She left Hollywood behind after the birth of her first son to help her husband plant a church. Sonja continued to provide consulting services to writers, directors and studios and has developed screenplay and TV series projects in development.

She became a Communications and Public Relations Officer at Central Unified School District in 2015, opening its first social media accounts and currently overseeing district-wide communications, media relations, crisis management and social media best practices training. Her department has won the district's first-ever awards in the field of communications and public relations with the following:

• NSPRA's 2020 Award of Merit for the Video PSA: Hoax Threats
• CalSPRA's 2020 Award of Merit for the Excellence in Communications Awards Program for General Publications / Collateral Materials for the Grapevine magazine

She's a huge fan of Star Wars, Harry Potter, Marvel, DC and U2. She loves to read books, listen to 80’s music, and spend time with her husband and two sons attending church, watching movies, traveling, and eating all types of ethnic food.
