Summary of 8-15-19 Meeting

The New High School Transition committee met on August 15, 2019.  Members divided up into specific groups, then each member in the group was asked to introduce themselves and discuss why there were here and what excites them about the process. Each group shared out their responses. A quick online survey was administered and committee members responded to those questions in the survey. They were asked to vote yes or no on various questions without any prior information or background.  The committee examined the results of the survey (see the membership polling below) and many positive ideas came out of this discussion.  The group reviewed the High School Survey that was administered in 2018 and presented to the Governing Board during the 2018-2019 school year.  The committee was then asked, “What do we need to know in order to answer Focus Area 1: What should High School Model be for existing East and West campuses and the new high school?”  A list of questions was compiled and staff has been charged to answer those questions for the next meeting which is scheduled for Thursday, September 26, 2019.
