GATE - Gifted and Talented Education
Gifted and Talented Education Programs
Central Unified School District is dedicated to ensuring that gifted and advanced learners are recognized and subsequently served through systematic programming. Gifted and Talented students need differentiated educational programs and services beyond those normally provided by the regular school program in order to realize their ability to contribute to self and society. Our goal is to identify gifted and talented students, including those from diverse racial, socioeconomic, linguistic, and cultural backgrounds, and provide quality differentiated opportunities for learning that meet students' unique abilities.

GATE TESTING AND IDENTIFICATION PROCESS
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all GATE testing and the identification process is suspended until schools reopen and when it is determined that students can be tested safely in person per public health and safety guidelines. Although testing is "on hold," schools are encouraged to continue to search for students who demonstrate potential and make referrals during school closures for the 2020-2021 school year. Referral timeline and testing changes coming soon.
