Central Elementary Name Transition

Students at Central Elementary will be pioneering change during the 2022-2023 school year.

At the July 26, 2022, regular board meeting, the Board of Trustees voted to change the name of James K. Polk Elementary to Central Elementary. The Pioneer mascot will remain. At this early stage, it is expected that the transition will fully occur in the next 12 months and incremental changes are already underway. This page will continue to be updated as progress is made.

Central Elementary Signage

Signage changes have taken place at Central Elementary. The entry sign, window decals, athletic signs, and monument were updated to reflect the school’s name change. Progress continues to be made in updating the campus.
