Central Unified School District recognizes the important role visual and performing arts play in providing our students a well-rounded education. The arts - dance, music, theater, and visual arts - are a critical part of every child's education. Research has shown that arts education not only enhances student achievement, but also improves emotional intelligence necessary in life: self-awareness, empathy, self-regulation, and internal motivation. It is no surprise that education in the visual and performing arts is recognized as a key component in developing 21st century job skills, and Central promotes this at every grade level!

The El Capitan MS Band had an outstanding showing at the Concert in the Parks Band Festival in Santa Clara on Saturday, May 19th. They took 1st Place overall besting all Middle School and High School Bands!
