Ying Lee has spent seven years as an administrator in Central Unified School District, first
as a Guidance Instructional Advisor, then as principal at Steinbeck Elementary. Prior to serving 
Central, Ms. Lee taught at Kingsburg Elementary Charter School District for ten years as a
Kindergarten and Transitional Kindergarten teacher. She was the first in the Central Valley to
embrace the challenge of teaching transitional kindergarten, which was a completely new
grade level. Ms. Lee’s experience with developing and teaching transitional kindergarten has led
her to be a presenter at several conferences on the implementation of transitional
kindergarten, including literacy in early education. She has also collaborated with California
Department of Education to develop training videos for transitional kindergarten. Honored to
continue serving the students and families in Central, Ms. Lee is excited to begin her new role as
Supervisor of Preschool, and Pre K – 3 Literacy.
